Review the 13-hour Salta tour to Purmamarca and Salinas Grandes, with practical tips on altitude, transport, costs, guides, and timing.

“The tour was good overall. The combi van that collected us was very small, and hard to fit the legs into the available space (even for average height people). But it had good air conditioning. The guide did a reasonable job - they provide some info along the way although more explanation and info would have been nice. Tour returned into Salta at approx 20:45.”

“Very cool excursion! We were very lucky with our guide - Angie is very charming and extremely interesting to listen to. The excursion itself was interactive, there was no time to get bored. We were introduced not only to the most beautiful places, but also to culture and folklore. And all this with humor and ease. The guide spoke excellent Spanish (her native language, of course), but also English, there were no problems in understanding. Thanks a lot! I highly recommend this excursion!”

Don Silvano Ranch review: horseback riding, asado, gaucho shows, mate, transport, costs, drawbacks, and practical booking advice from Buenos Aires.

“A soul destroying experience!!! This was not a trip to anything resembling a gaucho ranch. It was a hotel with grounds, some chickens, peacocks and 20 or so horses. And the experience was commercial garbage for the most part. You arrive at the ranch and are given a ticket if you want to 'ride' the horses. For the next 2 1/2 hours there is nothing organised except for some mediocre empanadas and drinks and a 15 minute walk on horses that are so sedate we wondered if they might be drugged. The signs said trotting was forbidden, but they needn't have bothered as the poor creatures barely wanted to walk.…”

Review of the 16-hour Perito Moreno Glacier day trip from Puerto Natales, with border tips, costs, guides, transport, and boat advice.

“The glacier is stunning - easily one of the most beautiful/impressive places I’ve ever been. The trip isn’t bad but it’s a long trip. The coaches are comfy, the guide only joined at el calafate just before the glacier. It probably makes sense cost-wise? The guide was knowledgable enough, if not a bit condescending. It would’ve been nice to stop in el calafate. If you get the chance to go to this beautiful part of the world, do it! Also say yes to the boat ride - absolutely worth the cost.”

“Great day vising both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides of Iguazu falls and a boat ride up into the falls. Falls are excellent; Nelton (our guide) is a bit of a character and was great. Did everything promised on time/as planned; helped expedite a number of issues (mostly around avoiding lines!). We were really happy we booked with him.”
